Transport; a system that works for people

SYDNEY ALLIANCE TRANSPORT TEAM

For too long Sydney’s transport has been a problem.

We’re going to fix public transport in Sydney! Come take part in one of the Transport teams in 2012 to take the first steps on our journey towards a world-class service standard for public transport in Sydney. A standard which citizens across Sydney can use to hold governments to account.

Our vision is for Sydney to have a world-class public transport system that is regular, reliable, clean, safe and easy to use for the people of Sydney regardless of health, wealth, age and mobility. It is planned, integrated and connected to where people live, work and play.

Transport should be within 400 metres
It should come every 15 minutes
It should only require 1 ticket
It is Safe, Clean, Accessible and Affordable

At the Q Theatre on the 17th of November 2011, 410 participants from over 30 Sydney Alliance member organisations committed to working on fixing transport in Sydney in their local area in 2012.

Participants shared stories, dinner and ideas with people from all over Sydney who committed to a shared vision of bringing about a world class, sensible transport system for our communities.

Early in 2012 the Transport Research Action teams will begin meeting again to start taking action, contact the chairs for more information.
