In 2020, Hava stepped up to support her Hazara community as the pandemic left people seeking asylum vulnerable to exploitation and destitution.

Together with other leaders with lived experience and allies, we secured $6 million in emergency funds for temporary migrants and people seeking asylum living in our state.
