Your generous support will ensure future generations of leaders and organisers will have access to training and mentorship that equip them to work for the common good.
We’ve already trained thousands of people and won significant campaigns for our city - from $6 million in emergency support for temporary migrants and people seeking asylum in NSW to $21M in emergency accommodation support for vulnerable international students living in our state.
Your gift will ensure Sydney Alliance can always support Sydneysiders and civil society organisations to advocate and shape public policy decisions on the issues affecting us.
All gifts – big and small – will be greatly valued and have a significant impact across Sydney – now and into the future.

In the past, we have received gifts from people we never realised were leaving us anything in their Will.
But we would love to personally thank you for your generous gift and convey our appreciation, so we encourage you to reach out to us if you intend to leave us anything – no matter how small.
If we are aware of your plans, we can create a space to discuss how your gift may be used to work towards building a fairer and more sustainable Sydney.
All information you provide to us will be entirely confidential and in compliance with privacy laws. But please know that you are under no obligations to share this with us if you don’t want to.
How to leave a gift in your will

Consult your solicitor or other qualified legal advisor to ensure the option you have chosen best reflects your intentions. Here is some information from us about your different options and some suggested wording.
Discuss your decision with your family and loved ones. This will ensure they understand and support your reasons for choosing Sydney Alliance to realise your vision for our city.
Options and suggested wording for leaving your legacy
A residual gift is the best option if you have family, friends and loved ones you want to look after first. Leaving a residual gift means that after your Will has made all necessary provision for relatives, friends and debtors, the residue of your estate (remaining assets) are passed to the organisation and/or individuals named as your residuary beneficiaries.
If we are one of a number of organisations or individuals you want to leave a residual gift, you can leave a specific percentage of the residue of your estate to the Sydney Alliance. Here is some suggested wording you can use:
“I give to Sydney Alliance for Community Building Ltd. (ABN 33 128 428 286), for its general purposes, free of all duties (INSERT NUMBER)% of my residuary estate for which an authorised receipt from Sydney Alliance for Community Building will be a sufficient discharge for the executor(s) or trustee(s).”
Or if you want to leave the entire residue of your estate to the Sydney Alliance, you can use this wording:
“I give to Sydney Alliance for Community Building Ltd. (ABN 33 128 428 286), for its general purposes, free of all duties the whole of the residue of my estate for which an authorised receipt from Sydney Alliance for Community Building will be a sufficient discharge for the executor(s) or trustee(s).”
If you want to leave a specific sum to Sydney Alliance, you can use the wording below. Over time, this option may reduce in value because of inflation, so we would recommend reviewing it from time to time.
“I give to Sydney Alliance for Community Building Ltd. (ABN 33 128 428 286), for its general purposes, free of all duties the sum of $(INSERT AMOUNT) for which an authorised receipt from Sydney Alliance for Community Building will be a sufficient discharge for the executor(s) or trustee(s).”
