1. Voices for Power Leadership Team (City-Wide Strategy Team)
Role: To collectively plan, discern and coordinate the overall strategy of the campaign, within the community organising frameworks and supported by Sydney Alliance staff.
Current Co-Chairs: Rev. Alimoni Taumoepeau (Strathfield-Homebush Uniting Church), Nirmal Joy (Sydney Community Forum) and Michal Levy (Jewish Community)
Our VfP Leadership Team currently consists of volunteer leaders from the following communities and organisations:
Muhajirin Association for Community Development, Parramatta Catholic Diocese, Emmanuel Synagogue, Pacific Climate Warriors, The Uniting Church in Australia, The Philippines-Australian Community Services Inc, Pakistani Australian Women's Association, Sydney Community Forum, Climate Action Network Australia, Asian Women At the Workplace, Australian National Imam's Council and many more.
2. Voices for Power Caucus (Local Teams)
Role: Local teams (1) focus on building relationships across local diverse civil society groups to build power in coalitions and (2) organise and take local collective actions, to put pressure on decision makers and get our campaign asks across the line.
Leadership: Each Caucus is led by volunteer co-chairs with the support of Sydney Alliance staff organisers.
Our (3) caucus' consists of leaders from organisations like: United Workers Union, Muhajirin Association for Community Development, Philippines-Australian Community Services Incorporated, Parramatta Diocese, Seven Hills Uniting Church, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish at Seven Hills, Emmanuel Synagogue, Climate Action Network Australia, Kapitbahayan Housing Coop, Sydney Community Forum, Strathfield-Homebush Uniting Church, Australian National Imams Council, Pakistani Women's Association, Liverpool Chinese Community, Tonga Parish, UNSW, Pacific Climate Warriors and Engadine Uniting Church.
North West Sydney Caucus (Status: Very Active)
Residential and Industrial areas of Mount Druitt, Seven Hills, Castle Hill, Bidwill Park, Parramatta, Auburn, Schofields, Penrith, Blacktown etc
Actions Planned: Bushfires Table Talk in Plumpton (February 2020), COVID-19 Q&A Discussion Streaming (April, 2020)
